Diane Pernet is divine
(so this week)
such a queen ♥
HAITI/MODELINIA
Last week my booker invited me to a money raising even for Haiti by Modelinia / Spin (a ping pong club owned by Susan Sarandon). There was a silent auction and monetary donations as ways of raising money. I believe this event was collecting money for the St. Damien's church in Haiti which like many is not operating with nearly enough resources. Upon research I found out that the even raised approx. 20,000$ and the auctions may still be taking place online.

And for the lols, here's me looking overwhelmed on the press line.

Mish Mash
Apologies for being slack for blogging lately. It's summer, I'm lazy and I'm pre-occupied. Big Day Out was happening all through Australia this week- who went? My favourite performance was by the one and only Peaches, she went off and the crowd loved her. Was also a fan of newbies Tame Impala and of course the lovely Lily Allen was great. Who was your fav?

A few other things I have been doing lately...
- being a post uni grown up and organising a move to the big smoke (Brisbane for me!)
- discovering the movie 'Lords of Dogtown' and wishing I could skateboard so I could be a Zephyr girl.
-reviving my dad's record collection and bopping along to the likes of Patti Smith, the Police and the Beatles
-hunting down cute floral patterned dresses

Also my 21st birthday is coming up in just over a month, does anyone have any interesting or unique party ideas or themes? I have tried to come up with some recently and haven't had much luck so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
pic cred: cant remember!

givenchy pre-fall 2010 ;
ricardo tisci never fails to recreate that glamorous look that he sent down givenchy's runway seasons ago, which has now become the epitome of his brilliant collections. of all of today's ingenious designers, tisci is among the few who can vary his style without straying from the house's essential characteristics.

monochromatic bliss, simplicity at its best. never a bare leg, yet undeniably sexy. these are the words that come to mind when viewing his assortment of rich fabrics and powerful shapes. add to that exotic olive green shoes and luxurious luggage, and you have a recipe for inimitable styles.

HAIR!
I have been blessed with very thick, very long hair. But what's better than genetics? Hair stylists! On a daily basis my hair does not look like the photos below! I can easily spend 2 hours in the hair chair. Most stylists use large barrel curling irons on small sections, pin, set, spray then brush out. My hair ends up looks super smooth and shiny because of the heat.

I unfortunately do not have the patience, or the muscle to devote to 2 hours of hair styling.
My routine is awfully simple. I wash my hair 2/3 times a week. I (almost) always wash it the day before I'm working (clients would rather you have clean hair. surprise!). I use quite a bit of whatever shampoo is around and what I feel like is half a bottle of the nearest conditioner. I try to brush it through in the shower.
Bumble and Bumble Super Rich is my favorite, but awfully expensive considering the rate and which I go through conditioner;

I also try to use a leave in like Infusium 23 right after my shower;

I wear my hair wet in a bun to bed and voila! I'll wake up with damp hair because I have so much of it. I don't use heat on my hair when I'm not working. I always shower before bed simply because my hair takes so long to dry.
Tadaaaah.
